A Collection Of Moments: February

A Collection Of Moments, is my attempt to actively notice the changes and beauty within each month. Because what is life, but a series of moments strung together like twinkling lights on a string?

FEBRUARY is …

Short.

Yet so long.

Feeling winter.

Warming up.

Love in all its forms.

More daylight.

Romance and disappointment. 💕

Reminisce.

Hope springs eternal.

Seasons change.

Celebrating my history as Angela Davis

returns home and speaks her truth.

JANUARY is …

Iced snow and snowy ice.

Renewal.

Declarations.

Below zero.

Planning.

Frozen.

Shimmering.

Sand and salt.

Strategy.

Grinning meteorologists.

Glistening.

Super Blood Wolf Moon eclipse.

Milk, bread and eggs.

Shoveling and scraping.

Why is it so hard when we have been here before?

A Collection Of Moments: December

DECEMBER is …

Hot coffee in a festive mug.

Mistletoe, holly and candy canes.

Winter solstice

and rebirth of the sun.

Menorahs, kinaras and Christmas lights.

Ritual and religion

all seeking the light.

The end

and the beginning.

Nostalgia and melody.

Brown paper packages tied up with string.

Rudolph’s shiny nose and Charlie Brown’s tree.

Zuzu’s petals and the promise of a wonderful life.

A Collection Of Moments: November

NOVEMBER is …

Recently bared tree limbs

swaying in the wind

against the gray blue sky.

Moving through mounds of leaves

swirling and crunching under your feet.

The sun low in the sky

creeping down and

almost fully gone by five.

A pen and ballot in hand

to mark the box and

dream of a better future.

Cinnamon, ginger, sugar and butter.

Root vegetables, onions, turkey.

Slicing, dicing, cooking, stirring.

Baking, basting and eating.

Family and friends gathered as one.

Thankful for this day.
